Does your New Year’s resolution for 2016 include shedding a few extra pounds gained over the holiday season? Maybe you just made a resolution to exercise more in the New Year. That’s great, but don’t forget to include your dog in your plan to get healthy this year!
January is the perfect time to make sure your dog gets all the exercise she needs to stay happy and healthy in 2016. It just happens to be National Walk Your Dog Month!
Pet obesity is a big problem in the U.S., and one of the easiest and most fun ways to keep your pet at a healthy weight is to increase his daily exercise and activity. So go ahead, take your dog for a nice long walk…it’s good for both of you.
Oh and cat owners…how about a nice new cat toy to get your kitty moving in the New Year? Check out some fun fishing rod style wand toys to engage your furry couch potato in a little exercise.

Thanks so much for sharing!
I wonder if there is a national walk your cat day too lol
It would be “Put a harness on your cat day and watch him slink around with his belly on the ground,” probably.
LOL. Not necessarily. I know of three people that take their cat happily out on a harness. One of mine would drag me up a tree in it too. The other would do the whole slink around lol
I’ve always had the slinking experience…before I gave up trying!
I try to walk him every day!! 🙂
Paws up!
